Newsletter - March 2024

It was so inspiring to spend 24 hours with a group of gospel entrepreneurs from around the country. It gave me hope for the future to see these young gospel entrepreneurs thriving and creating new initiatives. Thank you for your investment and prayers, and your ongoing encouragement and support for these leaders of the future.

In John 21, Peter was asked a very simple question, ‘Do you love me? And then Jesus repeats it! And repeats it! He didn’t ask, do people take you seriously? How much have you accomplished, or the where are the results that show your hard work? Jesus asked are you in love with me? Loving God is the greatest thing that a gospel entrepreneur can do.

Have you experience that living water that will transform every other relationship and business practice, and every venture that you take on? If you know the heart of God, his love, forgiveness and care will reach out from within you to others. That’s why Jesus asked Peter ‘Do you love me?’ As Jesus said, ‘A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart’ (Luke 6:45). As our hearts overflow with the love of God, everything we do will be affected.

We live in a world, where the knowledge of God’s love is becoming less and less, but as we step into the world, we will bring healing, reconciliation, hope and new life wherever we go. Because you are loved there is no reason to be afraid.

Let’s just be people who genuinely recognise that our leadership flows out of our love for Christ who first loved us.

‘I’m normal’

Vicci Phillips and business partner Gill O’Connor both attended the Gospel Entrepreneurs National Gathering. Describing why she’d come to the gathering for the second year, Vicci said, ‘I’m home! I’m normal and I’m in a room with people who understand me.’ Having attended the 2023 Gathering, Vicci persuaded Gill to come along so she could understand the Gospel Entrepreneurs’ values as the duo set up their campervan hire company Nanasvanas. Watch Vicci and Gill in the video above.

The event had a similar impact on many of the gospel entrepreneurs who attended; they found like-minded people spurring one another on to excel in business and in sharing the gospel. The hotel was buzzing with conversations, ideas and energy. There were talks from hotelier Simon Berry, Matt Parfitt from Grace Enterprises and Jody Wainwright from Boodles the luxury jeweller. One of our two new Gospel Entrepreneurs’ trustees, Caroline Taylor, also took part and associates Laura Brett and Steve Gee led the opening devotion and the closing worship and communion. Roy’s closing talk summed up the Gospel Entrepreneurs’ values and inspired everyone.
