After stepping out in faith and moving to Cumbria thirty-four years ago, after working in hotels, to run a Christian retreat centre, we were confused, when after only four months we left. Had God really called us? He knew best however, because during the equipping of the centre, we re-made a connection with a one-man business from the past, that supplied B&Bs in the Lake District, and we bought this business. 

Now with over 30,000 customers throughout the UK, Out of Eden supplies hotels, B&B’s, self-catering, Airbnb’s and many more businesses, with everything they need for the bedroom, bathroom and beyond with a range of over 2000 products.

Having started from home with just two of us in 1993 we now have a large warehouse in Kirkby Stephen and a team of 80 here and 15 more employed in a factory in Scotland that make the very best pillows and duvets.

Sadly, my soul mate, wife and business partner, Janet, died in October 2024 and I plough a new furrow without her. Having implemented and successfully carried out a succession plan ten years ago, I am now semi-retired and spend more time on the hills in the Lake district and Scotland!
